This blog celebrated its 20th birthday a few days ago… Here was my first post ever! Although I am not blogging as often – or in the same way – as I used to, it still continues to be one of my happy places.
Some quick numbers to commemorate the occasion:
- 2,636 total posts,
- 13,885 total comments,
- at least 5 million page views, and
- a whole lot of public thinking, friendly pushback, and robust conversation.
There were times when this blog was one of the top 10 education blogs in the world. That was fun! My public presence here has created innumerable opportunities that I would not have had otherwise, and I have become connected with so many smart, amazing people along the way. I am incredibly grateful.
Thank you to everyone who has traveled this journey with me. Looking forward to another couple of decades here at Dangerously Irrelevant!

Appreciate your blog, Scott!
Thanks for all you have done, continue to do, and will do in the future, Scott. You have impacted 10s of thousands of students, and continue to do so. And I can only thank you for that! HBD!
Scott, I can definitely relate. My blog is not what it once was, but I still enjoy your posts. I am always amazed by your list of books you’ve read for the month! Keep it up! Doug (Blue Skunk) Johnson
