I think of it sort of like skilled people who misuse (their) &quot;there&quot; and &quot;they&#039;re&quot;.  They&#039;re still good at what they do, but if they tell you they&#039;re going to write a book on English language, you might want to flip through it at the bookstore before you buy it.
